A song I wrote many years ago

God's people have forgotten the message he wanted to share
about love and grace and mercy and is undying care
twisted his words to be 'bout rules and laws
but honey, Jesus called and said that's not it at all.

You've got to.....feed em, clothe em, hug em, love em, lift them up high
tell em bout the Lord and that they don't have to cry
he loves them the way they were born to be
I think he knows love better than you and me.

He's tired of the judgement and condemnation
and a people who claim to speak for his heavenly nation.
But show hate and claim "you're going to hell".
How's that gonna win them, my child, do tell.

Its time to tell them joy on earth can indeed be found
they don't have to wait until they're glory bound.
Life is what you make it, so make it pay
Love is not love until you give it away.
