Living like there's no Heaven

 

Well I believe in Heaven

life on the other side

a place where my soul will continue

a home where my spirit will abide. 

Here we accept misery

say its part of life on earth

thinkin' it will only get better

after our heavenly rebirth.

 

If we lived like there's no Heaven

no home beyond the sky

we'd live life for today

instead of waiting to die.

We'd look for a piece of Glory

everyday and all around

we'd stop wasting all our days

waiting for Heaven to rain down.

Maybe we'd treat each other better

knowing this is our only chance

to show love and compassion

to dance our greatest dance.

Could we end war and hatred

now that there's no heaven to earn

no God to fight wars over

could we just live and learn?

How sad that the hope of Heaven

has made us lazy, still

we leave all the work to God

while we lay back and chill.

Do we have to get rid of God

before we will stand on our own

make the world a better place

and stand together toward the unknown?

Instead lets become God's hands 

and do his work for a change

create glory where there once was hell

let them see Heaven at close range.

Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.
