Hounds Be Bouncing

Saw my own silhouette in the glow of the moon
didn't expect to be alone quiet this soon
had gotten so used to being a pair
then it was gone in a moment, up in thin air.

Searchin' for shadows cast by the sun
where once there were two, now were down to one.
gettin' used to hearin' only the sound of my breath
even though we promised to love even until death.

But while you sleep soundly tucked in your bed
I'll be staring at the moon while thoughts howl in my head
Wondering where in the world do I go from here
do I embrace or avoid this brand new frontier?

How many times do you lose before your trying stops
how many chances at love if not the creme of the crop?
Maybe I'll do better as a lone silhouette
forget all the drama that in love you will get.

Think I'd rather hang out with just me and my hounds
at the moon we'll all gather make all kinds of sounds
and party like everyday's the fourth of July
cause we got lots of freedom in great supply.

So while we're staring and howlin' at the big ol' full moon
doggies' dancing to the sound of their own cheerful tune
I'll remind myself that I'm somebody proud
and I ain't ashamed to yell it right out loud.

Think I'd rather hang out with just me and my hounds
at the moon we'll all gather make all kinds of sounds
and party like everyday's the fourth of July

So while we're staring and howlin' at the big ol' full moon
doggies' dancing to the sound of their own cheerful tune
I'll remind myself that I'm somebody proud
and I ain't ashamed to yell it right out loud.
