A Teddy Bear Moment

Let me take you to a place
it is safe and warm, a beautiful space
the grass is soft on our bare feet
and the presence of God makes it complete.

It is in a meadow surrounded with trees
and I bend down upon my knees
and spread out a blanket upon the grass
and hope that time will slowly pass.

And on the blanket we sit and listen
and watch the dew, as still it glistens
and in the quiet, your hand I hold
and with my eyes, a message told.

The birds all serve as a heavenly choir
and with this song our spirits lift higher
and the fear and hurt lived with day to day
for a precious moment is gone away.

It is peace we feel, peace like no other
as we are embraced by our own Earth Mother
and this moment together we share
cuddled close, holding tight,  like a teddy bear.

And for just a while the earth stands still
so we can rest, so we can heal
and our spirits merge together and pray
that our scars will be worth it one of these days.
