In honor of Earth Day....As I kid I remember a song we sang in church. It went "the world is not my home, I'm just a passin' through. If heaven weren't my home, oh Lord what would i do?".
My answer to that: Maybe you would take better care of this one. Because like it or not, this IS your home for now. And its your kids home later. Its great to be heavenly minded, but if you use it as an excuse to look passed the things that can be fixed in THIS world, then you are no earthly good.
People are hurting now. The earth's resources are being poorly used and a reason for war. Greed is more important than kindness. And kindness is now being called socialism.
Maybe there is a heaven and you'll get to go there, but stepping across the bodies of the less fortunate is no way to walk up to the pearly gates. Don't look through the needy to see if your mansion is ready. See what is happening NOW and let eternity take care of itself.
